My mom's mom (my grandma) Shelba Stevenson had to have major back surgery on Thursday. Sunday she suffered a stroke and had internal bleeding. She is at Chippenham Hospital. She is recovering well, but has a long road ahead of her.

We brought his ashes back with us and later this summer plan to spread them where we want our ashes spread. On Saturday, July 10, we plan to have a memorial service for him in Matoaca. The service will be at 2pm at Woods United Methodist Church, 7200 Hickory Road, Petersburg, VA 23803-1300. Mike Beach Jr., our nephew, will be officiating the service. Mike is part of the pastoral team at a large Methodist Church in North Carolina. He was also the fine arts minister (music) when we played together at Swift Creek Community Church. We hope to play some live music at the service, if we can get a band together.
This announcement will not be in the local papers until a few days before the service, but I wanted everyone to know sooner. I'm sure there is someone we have missed, or information I forgot to include. Please write me with any questions, or call me at 804-399-7183. For those who cannot make it, especially those far away, we will miss you.

Hi All,
Many of you have been asking when we will do a memorial service or our son Darrin. Some of you, this may be the first you have heard of his death. Sorry for the latter, things for a few days were rather hectic to say the least. We went to Rehoboth June 11 - 13 and had a memorial for him there for his friends up in Delaware. That was very heart warming and strengthening for Alice, Alice-Ann, and I.
